Welcome to the International Conference on Media Technology Knowledge and Education in Next Era (IMKEN 2026), the 3rd International Conference under the IMKEN series. IMKEN 2026 is an international academic conference organized by the Division of Computer and Information Technology (CIT), in collaboration with the Department of Packaging and Printing Technology (PPT) and the Department of Educational Technology and Communication (ECT), King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT), Thailand. The conference provides a professional platform for researchers, educators, and students to present and exchange knowledge in media technology, multimedia, and related interdisciplinary fields that integrate technology, creativity, and education.
The International Conference on Media Technology Knowledge and Education in Next Era (IMKEN) originated from long-standing academic collaboration between the Division of Computer and Information Technology (CIT), KMUTT, Thailand, and the School of Media Science, Tokyo University of Technology (TUT), Japan, beginning in 2012. Initially established as a bilateral symposium between the two institutions, the initiative has gradually developed into an international academic conference series.
IMKEN 2026 History
In 2026, IMKEN further expands its academic scope and organizational collaboration by bringing together multiple host departments, including computer and information technology, educational technology and communication, and packaging and printing technology. The conference aims to strengthen international and interdisciplinary academic networks, promote scholarly dialogue, and support the dissemination of research and creative works in media technology and education at the global level.
The IMKEN conference series was established in 2012 as an academic initiative aimed at fostering collaboration and knowledge exchange in media technology and multimedia studies. What began as a joint academic symposium has gradually expanded in scale, scope, and international engagement, reflecting the growing importance of media technology in education, creativity, and innovation.
Throughout its development, IMKEN has continuously adapted to emerging technological trends and interdisciplinary practices. The conference has provided a sustained platform for scholars, educators, and practitioners to explore new perspectives, share research outcomes, and engage in constructive academic dialogue across borders and disciplines.
IMKEN 2026 represents a continuation of this academic journey, building upon previous conferences while advancing toward a more global and interconnected academic community. The conference reinforces IMKEN’s long-term commitment to supporting innovation in media technology and education, and to creating meaningful opportunities for collaboration that address both present and future challenges.
The academic conference is an important platform that provides an opportunity for researchers and students from TUT, KMUTT and other academics to present their work and exchange knowledge widely. Keynote speakers, expert speakers, presentations of research results both onsite and online, including poster presentations by undergraduate students. It is a good opportunity for participants to build academic collaboration networks with colleagues from other institutions, exchange experiences and opinions on research-related issues, and listen to opinions from experts in various fields. All of this will help create new knowledge and enhance skills necessary for future research development.
With cooperation among 4 institutes: CIT/KMUTT, PPT/KMUTT, ECT/KMUTT and Technology and School of Media Science/TUT have a consensus to let undergrade students to present their work to public in Share & Show Exhibition. Their work will be shown as booths. Interested people can visit booths located near the main venue. Participants are welcome to drop by and explore various activities at their convenience. Attendees can engage with the activities and explore the exhibits freely, creating an open atmosphere for knowledge exchange and hands-on learning.
This invitation and call for full papers are addressed to all participants. Participants are encouraged to submit the full papers before deadline.
